Sego canyon ghost town

Then the boats started showing up! An annual event on teh Willamette is the PAddle Oregon kyack trip. They had choosen this beach to setup breakfast and watch the eclipse

My fiend Luke was able to get this great image. I had not removed my solar filter at totality and didn't catch the Baily's beads where the sun shines through the mountain passes on the moon.

I should have been shooting on manual at this point during totality to show how dark it was. Instead, look above the tree and you will see venus at the top and a star just aboe the tree to show it was dark.

Most of the paddlers started leaving after totality. We stayed long enough to complete my sequence shots and to allow some of the traffic to clear. They were forcasting major traffic jams as people left areas of totality to return to home. We plan to leave the next day.

I had three camera setup. On the left is my 600mm that I shot indivudal images with. Next is a camera Iset up to take images to stack in a sequecenc. My firends camera in back and on the right is my Gopro shooting a tamelapse movie

Late afternoon on the day of the eclipse the smoke came back. Both California and Oregon were having big wildfires that year
