I was on PTO for the last weeks of December, San Diego was starting to require paid parking in Balboa Park and my Zoo pass was expiring in a few days. If those weren't reason enough, I have started to switch camera systems, moving from Canon (since 1974) to the Olympus/OM system. I wanted to give the camera a workout before taking it to New Mexico in January. As you can see, I think the results are great, my biggest question is if I can live with the smaller sensor size. biggest draw back so far is I don't have as many pixels to do a lot of cropping. The trade off is that the lenses are faster and lighter than my Canon versions. This means I should be able to carry the longer lens with me instead of cropping. I haven't gotten rid of the Canon equipment yet as I still have a couple of questions about functions on the new OM-1 Mk II, I think I have the settings correct, so I may have need of a warranty repair.
